Loudon County is growing fast. The books have to keep up.

P&L Business Services provides bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation for businesses in Lenoir City and across Loudon County. We have been doing this work for 35 years, 28 of them in Tennessee.

Loudon County has been one of the fastest-growing parts of East Tennessee, and new businesses, new neighborhoods, and new payrolls come with it. When a business grows quickly, the books tend to fall behind first. Keeping them current is the job.

We bill hourly. You pay for the work you actually need, not a package built around someone else’s business.

What We Know About Loudon County

Growth brings customers. It also brings filings nobody warned you about.

Two cities, and a lot of growth outside both.

Loudon County has two cities, Lenoir City and Loudon, and much of its growth, around Tellico Village and along the lakes, sits outside either one. Which local business tax applies depends on exactly where you are, and it is one of the first things we confirm.

Growing payrolls outgrow simple setups.

The payroll that worked with two employees stops working at ten. Deposit schedules change and quarterly returns get heavier. We take over the calendar so growth does not turn into penalties.

We are part of the Loudon County business community.

P&L Business Services is a member of the Loudon County Chamber of Commerce. We know the businesses here because we work alongside them.

Remote whenever you want it.

Documents come to us through our secure client portal or email. Meeting in person is an option you can use when you need it, not an obligation.

Who We Work With

We work with businesses across Lenoir City and Loudon County, from owner-operators doing the books on Sunday night to established companies with a full payroll.

That includes trades and contractors, title companies, salons, dental practices, physical therapy clinics, cleaning companies, artists and content creators, and chambers of commerce. See who we serve.

If you are not sure whether you are the right fit, call and ask. It is a short conversation either way.

Common Questions from Lenoir City Business Owners

Do you have an office in Lenoir City?

No. Our office is in Oak Ridge, and it moves to downtown Clinton in December 2026. Most of our Loudon County clients work with us digitally, and we meet in person when it helps.

My business is outside the city limits. What changes?

Mostly your local business tax. A business inside Lenoir City or Loudon owes city business tax on top of the county’s; a business in unincorporated Loudon County owes the county’s alone. We confirm which applies before anything is due.

Which Tennessee filings do you handle?

Annual city and county business tax returns, monthly sales tax filings, tangible personal property returns, annual franchise and excise tax returns, and quarterly payroll tax returns. We also serve as registered agent, which keeps your LLC from being administratively dissolved because a notice went to an old address or the circular file.

Do I need a CPA or a bookkeeper?

For most businesses, a bookkeeper handles the ongoing work — recording transactions, reconciling accounts, running payroll, filing sales and business tax returns, and producing financial statements. A CPA is typically brought in for audits, complex tax strategy, or certified financial statements. We handle bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation, and we will tell you plainly if something needs a CPA. We work directly with several CPAs and will refer you to them.

How do you charge?

We bill hourly. We do not sell packages, because most businesses do not need the same amount of work every month and we would rather not charge you for hours you did not use.
