Common Questions from Kingston Business Owners
Do you have an office in Kingston?
No. Our office is in Oak Ridge, and it moves to downtown Clinton in December 2026. Most of our Roane County clients work with us digitally, and we meet in person when it helps.
My business has an Oak Ridge address but sits in Roane County. What changes?
Your county. Your county business tax and tangible personal property return go to Roane County rather than Anderson County, even with an Oak Ridge address. It is one of the first things we confirm, because it is easy to get wrong.
Do you work with businesses in Harriman and Rockwood?
Yes. We work with businesses across Roane County, including Kingston, Harriman, Rockwood, and Oliver Springs. Most of the work happens digitally, and we meet in person when it helps.
Do I need a CPA or a bookkeeper?
For most businesses, a bookkeeper handles the ongoing work — recording transactions, reconciling accounts, running payroll, filing sales and business tax returns, and producing financial statements. A CPA is typically brought in for audits, complex tax strategy, or certified financial statements. We handle bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation, and we will tell you plainly if something needs a CPA. We work directly with several CPAs and will refer you to them.
How do you charge?
We bill hourly. We do not sell packages, because most businesses do not need the same amount of work every month and we would rather not charge you for hours you did not use.
